The brief history of Barangay Baluc

Barangay Baluc is situated at the foot and form part of Mt. Malindang National Park in the north direction.  In the East it is bounded by Barangay Sto. Niño. While in the west is barangay San Antonio and barangay Catagan in the South. It has a total land area of 300.2269 hectares. The assessed value is 965.750. The history of  Baluc started in 1940 when the place was still a forest. It featured a wide array of kaleidoscopic flowers and it is where Baluc got its name. it is from the word bulok in vernacular and in English is color. That time there were few subanens  occupied the place but they move forward when the Cebuanos came in. then, started the owning of lands through measuring  by meters using “ that is yours, this is mine” principle. In 1950, this barangay was still a sitio of barangay Kimat. However, in 1983 it became a separate barangay under Hon. Gaudioso Tabalba, the barangay Captain. Some of his project were; Construction of School Building Barangay Road, Water System (Phase 1) and other. Hon. Silvestre D. Villegas was elected and continued to have project in the barangay. One of which is barangay hall, basketball court, barangay office, health center, Day care center and fencing of the barangay hall.
