Tangub City, August 17, 2023 - A historic event unfolded as Tangub City celebrated the inauguration of its newly constructed buildings: Asenso Mall 1 and 2 in Barangay 2, the Peoples Market in Barangay 3, and the newly renovated City Mayor's Office. The event was further graced by the unveiling and official renaming of the former GADTC, now Tangub City Global College, and the former Sinanduloy Cultural Center, now named the People’s Gym.

The day commenced with a significant prelude, as Rev. Fr. Ernest Colanag and Rev. Fr.  Sande Cometa led a solemn mass. Father Sande's homily drew inspiration from the biblical verses in Matthew 18:21-35, reminding attendees of the importance of forgiveness and understanding in human relationships.

In attendance were city officials led by Mayor Ben Canama, local and national employees, market vendors, faculty and students from Tangub City Global College, barangay leaders, representatives from private institutions, and various stakeholders. Notably present was Governor Henry S. Oaminal, along with the board members and PGMO officials.

Following the mass, a short program unfolded, enriched by the performances of the Tangub City Global College Performing Arts students. The occasion also marked the official debut of the "Una ang Ginoo" song in its kid's version.

Mayor Ben Canama, in his message, conveyed profound gratitude, extending it first to divine providence and secondly to Governor Henry Oaminal for his unwavering support towards Tangub City's transformative projects. Mayor Canama also expressed his appreciation for the presence of all attendees, emphasizing their collective contribution that has propelled Tangub City's growth and development within just 13 months since assuming office post-election.

Meanwhile, part of the event was the recognition of Palarong Pambansa winners, who received well-deserved cash rewards from the Local Government of Tangub. Governor Oaminal himself also pledged to extend further financial incentives and continuous support to the winners.

Governor Oaminal highlighted the ongoing progress within Misamis Occidental's provincial government. His vision, encapsulated in the "5Ms" framework — "Misamisnon Magpuyong Malinawon, Malambuon, ug Malipayon" — resonates as a pledge for the well-being of every Misamisnon, advocating a life of harmony, productivity, and happiness.
