Yanong Tourismo: The Tourism Booth Display

Tangub City concluded its highly-anticipated City Fiesta 2023, shining a spotlight on the "YANO” way. One of the key activities was the "YANONG TOURISMO SA TANGUB: The Tourism Booth Display," an event which exhibited the city's rich cultural heritage, showcase its achievements, and outline future plans. The event was an open invitation to partners from various colleges and schools in Misamis Occidental to actively engage in promoting sustainable tourism.

From September 26 to September 29, 2023, attendees witnessed a variety of activities and programs that began with a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the opening of the exhibition booths. This was followed by a series of preliminary events, an opening salvo, and a performance by the NMSCST Bughaw Dance Troupe.

Mrs. Wilma Canama, Tourism Committee Chair, and Hon. Jun Caylan, extended a warm welcome to the attendees. The Tangub city Global college (TCGC) Performing Arts Group also gave an intermission number. Tangub City Mayor, Hon. Ben Canama, shared his thoughts and aspirations for the city's future in tourism and culture during his message.

The event also featured an Exhibitor's Promotional Time, where educational institutions such as La Salle University (LSU)-Ozamis City, Our Lady of Triumph (OLT)-Ozamis City, and Northwestern Mindanao State College of Science and Technology (NMSCST) -Tangub City presented their contributions to the promotion of tourism and culture.

The "YANONG TOURISMO" concept, paying homage to Mayor Ben's simplicity and servant leadership, underscored the significance of the event. The City's Fiesta 2023 provided a valuable platform for Tangub City to celebrate its cultural heritage and foster collaboration with educational partners dedicated to advancing active and sustainable tourism efforts throughout the region.
