HIV/AIDS Counselling and Testing Program
The Tangub City Anti-Drug Abuse Team offers HIV/AIDS Counselling and testing services to all Tangubanons, it is the first step for multiple interventions for HIV/AIDS prevention and care. HCT serves as an entry point for HIV prevention services that include prevention of Male sex with Male (MSM), Mother to child, female sex to male transmission, access to condoms and prevention counselling for HIV reactive and non-reactive. This service is given Monday to Saturday.

2.1 | Agency Action: Prick the middle fingertip of the client and get a small amount of blood to be used for the testing procedure. |

Agency Action: Explain the result , including about the information of the window period for the appearance of HIV antibodies and a recommendation to the re-test in case of a recent exposure; | |
Agency Action: Advice on methods to prevent HIV transmission, including avoiding the use of non-sterile needles, syringes and other injecting equipment; | |
Agency Action: Guidance on the use of condoms (if possible on appropriate supply of condoms and other commodities should be provided, proper use and demonstration will also provided) | |
Agency Action: Inform the client about the appropriate time for a follow up test based on the risk assessment and on-going risk behaviour. | |
