Brief history of Barangay Maloro

      After Tangub became a city on 1967 by virtue of RA 1531. And by virtue of BP 337 of the Local Government Code, 1983, the Poblacion of Tangub City were created as Urban Barangay.

      The five (5) that were created are Barangay 1,Barangay II, Barangay III, Barangay IV, and Barangay V. But before these 5 barangays were created it was also named as Centro, Tangub City. For the coverage of the Poblacion was from seashores of Mantic and Migcanaway, Migcanaway River, Malubog River, up to where the barangays III is now located.

      It was the late Alfonso D. Tan, the first City Mayor of Tangub City who was responsible for the creation of the aforementioned five Urban Barangays of Tangub City.

     The first elected barangay chairman was Hon. Eulipio Fuentes and when he went to Cagayan  de Oro City,his brother,Hon. Desios Fuentes, was appointed as acting Barangay Chairman to finished his term. And following were elected as the first councilors, namely: Hon. Geronimo Balatero,Hon. Aguido Ras,Hon. William Enriquez,Hon William Fuentes.

     Barangay II is bounded on the North by Migcanaway River on the West by Barangay III; on the east by Barangay I; AND ON THE South by Barangay V. It has a total land area of 9.8417 hectares.

       Barangay II is classified as residential, commercial, and industrial and has a loamy and sandy kind of soil.
