The brief history of Barangay Kimat

Long before, Kimat was still a forest and the first settlers were the Subanen. At that time they lived by planting root crops, hunting wild animals,   picking up fruits, and cultivating farms. One of the leaders, whom the Subanen used to kwon was Ladaman and his wife. The couple begot one son and named him Kimat which in Subanen language which means brave, alert, and intelligent. The child became famous of his  being alert in capturing and killing a big snakes.After few years Kimat was also respected by his tribe and became one of
the leaders. When he died the whole tribe was mourning and he was deeply remembered. That is why the members of the tribe named the place as Kimat.
