Brief history of Barangay San Antonio

Barangay San Antonio is situated near the forest. It has a total land area of 5, 610.53008 hectares. In the east, it is bounded by barangay Baluc, while in the west is barangay Sicot. At the foot part is barangay Taguite while on the opposite side is the forest.
In 1923, San Antonio is considered as a remote barangay. It had 15 households only. Mr.& Mrs. Macario Estrosas and Mr. & Mrs Santiago Lampera arrived this place with San Antonio de Padua. They came from Calape, Bohol.
At that time San Antonio was a sitio of Taguite and Roman L. Carro was one of the councilor. However in 1966, San Antonio became a barangay under Republic Act 3590. Meanwhile, Roman L. Carro was elected as the first Barangay Captain.
As time went on Roman Carro had a lot of project like barangay road, school building, electricity and others. He served San Antonio for almost decades.
After his death, his son Fernando L. Carro, the first councilor, assumed to the office in 2001. Until this time Fernando L. Carro is still the BaranGAY Captain. When San Antonio was still a forest wild animals can be seen. So, classes were held in the chapel. Fortunately, the first teacher sent by Mayor Alfonso D. Tan was Leonardo T. Estrosas.
